Tomorrow: Noir at the Bar

Well folks, the less you hear from me, the more I’m hacking away at something else for you. Something I think you’re going to like.

In the meantime, there’s a fun thing happening tomorrow night at the Shebeen Irish Heather in Chinatown. The effervescent Magnus Skallagrimsson has organized another edition of Noir at the Bar.

This round features local faves like Charlie Demers (I used to watch him on CityTV back when I first moved out here, later became a fan of his quintessentially Vancouver books like The Prescription Errors, Vancouver Special, and Property Values), prolific chronicler of the underworld Deitrich Kalteis, and triple threat (fiction/poetry/nonfiction) JG Chayko. Some by of towners with bona fides. I’m excited to see Sean Cranbury read. Sean is part of the fabric of the Vancouver writing community, as an organizer behind Books on the Radio and the Real Vancouver Writers Series, and an all around cool guy. Can’t wait to see what he brings to the reading.

Also on the bill, possibly due to a clerical error, is yours truly. I’m probably going to read something new from my old detective novel.
